Lux Aeterna for SATB performed by the Cathedral Choir of St. John the Divine, Kent Tritle conducting.

Performances

On September 11, 2001 one of the worst tragedies in the history of the United States occurred.  As we all know the attack on the World Trade Center, the Pentgon, and the tragic plane crash in a field in Pennsylvania has led all of us to mourn the lost of so many fellow Americans.

Ten years later, during a day of national remembrance, over a thousand people came to the huge Cathedral of St. John the Divine on the Upper West Side of Manhattan to offer their prayers and sympathy concerning that terrible event. The composer's Lux Aeterna was performed both on WQXR radio and at this memorial service by the extraordinary Cathedral choir of St. John the Divine, conducted by Kent Tritle. Below is an unedited live performance of this motet on that day.
